Where We Serve

Today, the Daughters of Charity are an international community of over 21,000 women ministering on all continents throughout 94 countries in the world. Wherever there is human suffering, you will find Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul: happy, dedicated, caring, and creative.

There are five provinces in the United States:

• Southeast ~ Emmitsburg, Maryland
• Northeast ~ Albany, New York
• East Central ~ Evansville, Indiana
• West Central ~ St. Louis, Missouri
• West ~ Los Altos Hills, California

The Southeast Province

The Daughters of Charity Emmitsburg Province serve in ministries responding to the cries of persons who are poor in the southeastern United States: Maryland, West Virginia, the District of Columbia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and Georgia.

Some sisters from the Emmitsburg Province also serve on foreign missions in Taiwan, Kenya, Bolivia and among Native Americans in the southwest of the United States. They live together in local communities close to those they serve.
