July 11, 2007 Dear Friends: I hope that you are all well and enjoying a relaxing summer. To update you, I want to share some news about the comings and goings of the Provincial Councilors. Sister Clare Marie Angermaier and Sister Mary Ann Azar have completed nine years of consecutive service, which is the maximum time allowed by our Constitutions. They will be taking some time off to reflect, pray and relax in preparation for their next ministry assignment in January 2008. Our sisters will celebrate a farewell liturgy and dinner on July 14 at 4:30 p.m. The following Saturday there will be an installation Mass and dinner for the four new Councilors — two of whom, Sister Joan Keating and Sister Jean Rhoads, are being reappointed. Sister JoAnn Knight and Sister Mary Catherine Warehime are the two new Councilors.
Sister Mary Catherine Warehime, Sister Jo Ann Knight, Sister Jo Ann has ministered as a nurse and is presently a Clinical Nurse Specialist at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore. Sister is proficient in French. Several years ago, she spent a year and a half doing translation work at our Mother House in Paris, France. In fact she just recently returned from our Motherhouse in Paris to the States after helping with translation for three weeks. Sister Mary Catherine has been a primary teacher. She was also, at one time, principal of Mother Seton School. Her present ministry is Vocation Director for the Emmitsburg Province. Her creativity and enthusiasm have been a hallmark of Sister’s ministry. She will be greatly missed as Vocation Director. Please keep the new Council in your prayers. We have many challenges facing us and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, as always, is deeply needed. Devotedly, Sister Claire Debes |
